Jorowski was born in Kalmor, Ontario and moved at an early age to Winnipeg, where she was educated. She is married with 3 children. She was an International Toastmistress for 9 years; Chairman of the Winnipeg Centennial Committee of East Kildonan in 1974; and active in the Anti-Pornography Committee; and a founding member of the East Kildonan Horticultural Society in 1967 and President for 3 years. She was Chairman of the East Kildonan Junior Gardeners Program for 5 years. She ran successfully for election in 1974 in Leighton Ward and served for fifth term on Council. She was Chairman of "International Year of the Child" for Winnipeg. She organized Concordia Hospital Auxiliary in 1980. She was also Chairman of Share Christmas 1970 (which sent over 8 tons of food, clothing, toys, and books to the Shamatawa Reserve, Manitoba). |
